The Questions and the Answers
- What would you say is your biggest day to day challenge?
Right now, I would have to say breathing. Symptoms indicate that I have gone to the next stage of COPD. I deal with it as best I can. I do a lot of praying some days.
- May 16th is National Biographers Day. What’s a biography you really enjoyed reading? Is this a genre you read regularly?
I’m sure I’ve read biographies, but at the moment, I can’t think of one that I’ve read or enjoyed reading. I don’t often read biographies (not that I’m opposed to it). I do, however, read memoirs and enjoy them very much. I love to hear other people’s stories in their own words.
- How important is keeping a clean house? Do you need to de-clutter your life?
Keeping a clean house is very important, but there are too many obstacles right now for this house to be perfectly clean. Yes, my life needs to be de-cluttered, but that’s not happening right now either.
- You’re the 8th dwarf. What’s your name?
“Cranky” would be my name if anyone called me a dwarf. I had to put up with being called “midget” for years. I am short, fluctuating between 4’10” and 5’, but I do not meet the qualifications for being a midget. Those mean kids (and adults), however, do meet the qualifications for being jerks!
David says my name would be “Psychic Dwarf”.
- What’s surprised you the most about your life or life in general?
The thing that surprises me, over and over, is that someone like me could have such beautiful children. There are many other things, but that one stands out the most.

We have read the Bible through several times. Each time we learn something that maybe didn’t stand out before. This time has been no different for me. Last night, I read through 1 John. It said quite clearly who antichrist is:
1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”
1 John 4:3 “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
ALREADY in the world. We aren’t waiting for some future time for this creature. And, we know who it is, those that deny Heavenly Father and Jesus. That sounds pretty clear to me!
I don’t know how I ever missed this the first few times through the Bible, but I’m glad I caught onto it this time.

I have read historical fiction, but I much prefer actual history over fiction. I’m too easily confused these days. 🙂

I am really sorry about your COPD. My mom suffered from it for years, but somehow (no one really knows how) her symptoms went away not long after she entered a MCF.
You know how, in the Bible, we are all referred to as “The Church”? All the time, The Church, The Church… And yet this idea about the AntiChrist being this unified collection of souls spanning thousands of years isn’t one that is grasped by most. I’m with you- I absolutely think that is what it means. (and yes, every time I spend a devoted amount of time in the word, I learn new things. I think maturity and perspective affect it too.)

Thank you, Misty. What is an MCF? I am sorry that your mama had COPD, but very glad to hear that she got better. That offers me hope!
I’m glad that I’m not alone in my thinking of what these verses mean. It is exciting when these things are brought out for me to actually realize as we’re reading, isn’t it? I can’t wait to see what else becomes clearer as I read the last parts of the Bible. I am about 6 days from completing a year-long devotion that had me read the Bible through. It has been a great experience.

I’m sorry to read about your breathing difficulties. My father suffered from COPD and I know what a struggle it was for him. His physical activity may have been limited, but his two active grandsons kept his mind active!

Thank you. I am so sorry to hear that your daddy had it, too. My daddy did, too, and was diagnosed with lung cancer the month before he died. I am glad that your daddy had grandchildren to help keep his mind active. 🙂

Isn’t it amazing how beautiful our children are to us? I see my daughter and grandchildren, and their beautiful faces and I think…are they really related to me?

Yes, it is. 😊. How blessed you are to have grandchildren. I think I’m the only one left in my family, in this age group (50+), without grandchildren. But, I’m knitting booties anyway.😊

Thank you. What is your favorite memoir? The most interesting/weird one that I’ve read lately was Confessions of a Bone Woman. I think that I wrote the name correctly. I don’t have it handy right now.

I think I’d rather read books that are memoirs, than just a biography about someone, even though I’ve read a lot of those, too.
Haha – Cranky would be a good one for me, sometimes, for whatever reasons on different days. I kind of always wanted to be shorter, myself. I was taller at 5’5″ than both my parents, and they called me tall. Now, most everyone I know is taller than me, and I’ve actually shrunk an inch, so I get the shorty label now. 🙂

Cranky triggers vary here, too. Why did you want to be shorter? Was it because you were taller than your parents? I was always shorter than everybody else, except for 3rd grade. Remember how they used to line kids up for school pics? At our school, they lined us up shortest to tallest. In first and second grade, I was in front of the line. In third grade, the boy that had been behind me was in the front of the line. I felt like big stuff then! haha
I wonder how much more you and I will shrink?

That could be it, that I was taller than my parents. I was as tall as I would be in 5th grade, which was taller than just about everyone. Then later on they kept on growing taller than me. They say we all shrink a little as we get older, so who knows. … Wishing you and yours a happy weekend! 🙂

I’ve heard that about shrinking, too. I’ve also heard its one of the signs of osteoporosis. Hopefully we’re just shrinking and not dealing with that, too. I hope that you have a happy, blessed weekend, too. 🙂

One thing that struck me, actually my husband mentioned it, is that when the Lord kicked Satan out of Heaven, he didn’t go down to Hell to hang out with sinners singing in their beer, he came HERE. Earth. THIS is where he’s been exiled until the time he’s thrown into the Lake of Fire.
It really made me stop and think!
