Thank you all for continued prayers for David. We appreciate them very much. His diabetes is out of control and he is having a very difficult time. No matter what we do, he either goes very low or very high. We got confirmation Monday that he has kidney damage. Thankfully not kidney disease, but still kidney damage.

We don’t know who this kitty belongs to, but he keeps visiting. We named him “Pitty-Pat”. Photo taken 12 June 2019
Here are the fill-ins:
- I hope ________________ never goes out of business.
- So far, the highlight of my year has been_________.
- ___________________________ takes up too much time.
- If I didn’t have to sleep, I would spend that extra time _________.
Here are my responses:
I hope Amazon never goes out of business. I also hope that they get grocery prices to a decent level so that we can avoid going out to the grocery store. Our car is having a serious health crisis of its own and driving is not a pleasure at all these days. Everytime we leave, I wonder if we’re going to make it back home okay or if we’re going to be stranded on the side of the road. There’s nothing I can do about it but continue to pray.
I don’t know about a highlight, but it was definitely exciting (not the good kind!) driving through the river on the way back from David’s mother’s house. Technically, I drove over the bridge, but the river was on the bridge, too. We’ve had a lot of rain and flooding in our area. Our yard and this section of our neighborhood got more flooded than it has in the past, though we still didn’t get water in the house, except what we tracked in on our feet. The town we had to drive through to get to his mother’s house was majorly flooded in a lot of places. I would have stopped to take pictures, but I was afraid the water would decide I needed to join it!
Sleeping and pottying take up too much time. The “have tos” take up too much time. Pretty much everything takes too much time these days because I am moving slower. The air quality here has been in the unhealthy range more often than not lately and I’ve had a horrible time trying to breathe. The neighbors’ blasted non-stop cigarettes don’t help matters at all.
If I didn’t have to sleep, I would spend that extra time being awake. Haha Okay, I would spend it doing what I’m doing now, trying to figure out how to get David’s diabetes under control and trying to find out the identity of my bio father.
Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

Suzanne,
I’m sorry to read about David’s diabetes being out of control. I will keep him in prayer. Oh, car troubles! Been there, done that!! It’s a horrible feeling of uncertainty but God will provide. There’s been a lot of flooding occurring in the country this spring. We had some flooding, not at our house, in March and some areas outside of Knoxville has taken on water in recent weeks. There’s so much craziness going on. I’d rather get my sleep than to do anything else really. I don’t do well without 8-hours each night and through the week I usually get only 7, so I’m shorted. I try to make up on the weekends when I can, though. That’s a bad habit. But, I find I can’t go to sleep any earlier than 9pm because if I do then I’ll wake up around midnight and can’t fall back to sleep quickly. Y’all take care and have a good weekend. XX

Thanks, Cathy. We appreciate the prayers very much.
Yes, Heavenly Father will provide, in His own timing and way.
The weather has just been unreal. I am sorry to hear of the flooding around Knoxville, too.
If I sleep longer than 6 hours, I am in incredible pain, but sometimes I just can’t make myself get up and just deal with the pain as best I can. I am sorry that you aren’t getting enough sleep through the week. Maybe you can ease yourself into going to sleep earlier than 9pm, like going at 8:55pm for a week and the next week, step it down another five minutes, to get your body used to the idea. Maybe that would work.
You take care, too, and have a blessed weekend. 🙂

Prayers are continued here as well. Hopefully something can be done for David’s diabetes soon.
Driving through such a flood would scare me very much, you were really brave.
I hope your breathing problems don’t last long.
I don’t like spending so much time sleeping, but I need 8 hours every night for body and soul.
You two take care!

Thank you, Viola. It is very scary when his diabetes gets out of control, and especially now knowing that he has kidney damage.
Thank you. I sure didn’t feel brave. I was scared to death and so glad to get through it without getting whished into the river. Thank you for thinking that I was brave. 🙂
We have had several more unhealthy air quality days since I wrote this post. It seems as though at least a little bit of every day lately is in the unhealthy range and the heat! OY! Our car felt like a furnace when we opened the doors to come home after visiting with David’s mother yesterday. It was horribly hot. The car thermometer said it was 102 degrees, but it felt more like 210. It was awful.
I hope that you are able to get the sleep that you need and are well-rested when you wake up.
You take care, too. Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

Thank you, too, Ellen. I always enjoy the fill-ins. I just wish that I had more time and brain power for going around responding to everyone like I used to do.
Thank you for the prayers for David. These are some very scary times, especially this past weekend when it appeared that his pump had failed (it hasn’t yet, just was leaking insulin).
Have a blessed weekend. (((Hugs)))

Yes, Amazon definitely is a blessing. Hard to imagine it never existing.
I’m so sorry about David. I’m glad at least they’ve diagnosed it now and know what’s going on, and hopefully damage rather than disease means it’s caught at a good time to do something about it and get him back on track. Sending my very best wishes ♥

I am saying prayers for David and yourself! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! The flooded streets in your area must make driving such a chore, on top of the car troubles you’re having. I hope everything calms down for you all very soon!

Thank you. 🙂 The waters have gone back down for now and I’m glad for that! We’re supposed to get more rain tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. It is a never-ending battle with water down here – either too much of it or not enough.
Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

He’s a sweetheart, a very vocal sweetheart. He has let Laynie hold him, but I think he isn’t particularly too sure about being held yet.
Thank you. We appreciate the healing prayers very much.
Here’s to us being able to conquer the world, or at least our bladders and sleepy eyeballs. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend, Vanessa. ❤ (((Hugs)))
