Thank you all for continued prayers for David. We appreciate them very much. We hope to get back to reading and responding to your posts soon. Thank you for continuing to respond to mine, in spite of me not being able to get to yours right now. I appreciate it very much.

Here are the fill-ins:

  1. I am always ____________________.
  2. I brake for ____________________.
  3. I’d be lying if I said _________.
  4. __________________ wins the race.

Here are my responses:

I am always on alert, on guard, constantly scanning the area around me. As I understand it, it is a part of the whole PTSD package. If I am awake, I am not relaxed. I’m not so sure that I am when I am able to sleep, either.

I brake for leaves sometimes. Anything that moves in the road, if I see it, I brake for it. That annoys the heck out of the speed demons behind me. Often times they go around, not caring what it is that I have stopped for. One time it was a woman pushing a stroller with another couple of little ones walking beside her. The truck behind me came barreling around. Thankfully, that family didn’t get hit!

I’d be lying if I said that I was enjoying this season in life, because I absolutely am not. I could if bad things would stop happening, maybe, but as long as they do keep happening, enjoying this season isn’t happening.

The one who gets to Heaven wins the race. Also, the one who gets the last piece of cake or scoop of ice cream wins.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  3. Will continue to pray for you too.
I annoyed some of those “speed demons” so far as well. I think they are very rude and just care about themselves.
    Have a blessed week!

    • Thank you, Ellen. I always enjoy answering the fill-ins and finding a cute kitty for Feline Friday, too.

      We’ll get used to these new limitations for now and he will recover eventually. It will get better. It is just a hard spot right now. Thank you for your encouragement and friendship. {{{Hugs}}}
      Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

Thank you for continuing to join in on the Friendly Fill-ins! You have so much on your plate, and I admire your strength. I know what you mean about braking for leaves. I always think leaves skittering across the street are animals, and then I panic and slam on the brakes. You, David, and your entire family remain in my prayers!

    • Thank you. We appreciate the prayersand kind comments very much. I don’t feel particularly strong these days. I don’t feel very equipped for this particular test, but I know somehow we will get through it. Prayers are helping!

Do you get folks honking at you when you stop for the leaves (or critters or families crossing the street)? The drivers around here are hyper-impatient and have a tendency to just drive around, regardless of why a person put on brakes.

      Have a blessed weekend. 🙂
