Friendly Fill-Ins

This is a fun meme co-hosted by 15 and Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs. Be sure to visit and join in the fun!

New Friday_Fill-In_BadgeHere are the fill-ins:

  1. Black Friday ______________________________.
  2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is ___________________________.
  3. ‘Tis the season for _______________________.
  4. I never jumped on the ___________ bandwagon.

Here are my responses:

Black Friday is a madness that I would rather avoid and fully plan to avoid!

A pet peeve of mine this time of year is greed and all the “gimmees”. This world has lost track of the reason for the season in all the rush to get more stuff.

‘Tis the season for remembering the Gift that Heavenly Father gave us when He sent His Son into this sin-filled world to offer us eternal life, paying for it with His own life.

I never jumped on the “latest fashion craze” bandwagon. I wear what I want to wear, what feels most comfortable to me. I don’t care whether it is in style or not. If I like it, I wear it. If I don’t, I don’t.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. I agree completely. We are done with our Christmas shopping. We aren’t giving anyone one anything. We can”t afford to and I can’t see going in debt to buy something we really don’t need.

I am glad you aren’t on the got to have the latest fashion bandwagon. When White Lilly comes out with a new print, maybe we will be out of flour and can get it. I love you, My Zing!

  2. This greediness is really annoying. I like to give, but I don’t want to feel forced.
You are so right about fashion. I care about wearing clean clothes, but as far I am concerned that’s enough for most days.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

Hubby and I haven’t bought anything for each other for years. We pay cash and if we don’t have any we don’t shop. It’s the only way to go. When we do shop it’s for our grand-babies and it’s for things they need, like clothes.

Have a fabulous day and a blessed weekend. ♥

    • Thanks, Sandee. I think it’s a good way to do things. We’d all do well to learn to live within our means and not take on debt. Sometimes it can’t be avoided, maybe, but it’s a good goal.

It also teaches people that there are things far more important than ‘stuff”.

Have a great day and a blessed weekend!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers.. I do agree there is a lot of greed at this time of year. I have never been into fashion either, I am all about comfort. XO

  5. Black Friday is a plain old work day for me, and i agree, i wear what’s comfortable and what i like.

    • I hope that your work day went well. I wouldn’t want to be a retail worker on Black Friday anymore than I’d want to be a customer. I can just imagine all the fussing they’ve had to contend with.
What is your favorite comfortable kind of clothing to wear? I wear knit pants because they accommodate my scoliosis, and loose peasant-style tops. I’ve had these tops nearly 10 years now, I guess. When they completely fall apart, I’m in trouble because I haven’t been able to find them anywhere. I’m very picky about how the fabric feels and most of today’s fabrics make my skin crawl.

      Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

Good answers. I don’t get all the black Friday madness either. It’s gotten worse, too.
Whatever is comfortable to wear is what I do now. I never was into designer labels, or anything like that.
Hope your weekend is going good. 🙂

    • Thanks, Barbara. I think the Black Friday stuff will just keep getting worse, too. More people, more madness, and, unfortunately, more accidents because people are thinking about getting to the stores to get the deals and not paying attention to their driving.
We still have leftovers, so that part of the weekend is going great. Thanks. I hope that you’re having a great weekend. 🙂

Great answers! I avoid going to the stores on Black Friday. It’s way too crazy. I, also, agree about wearing whatever you want. I do too. Have a great week!

    • Thanks, Yvonne. I’ve only ever ventured out once on Black Friday. That was years ago and it was just crazy enough to seal me in my decision to never do that again. I was only out then because I had to be. Crazy is a great word for what goes on out there. 🙂
      Have a blessed week!

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I completely agree about Black Friday. I don’t like shopping an a typical day, and shopping on Black Friday sounds like nothing but a living nightmare. And the reason for the season is indeed Jesus! I wish more people realized that, and didn’t commercialize Christmas the way they do.

    • Thank you. I always enjoy the fill-ins very much.
I don’t know where things got so off course in regards to commercialism. Greed is rampant, and not just in retail. Just a total disregard for humanity all around.
Maybe some day hearts will be turned back to the real meaning of Christmas and Thanksgiving, Easter, all of those holidays that should be more focused on Jesus and gratitude and real love.
      We can hope.
      Have a blessed night. 🙂
