She writes: Feel free to join in the fun with your own answers to any or all of the questions!
What’s the most dangerous situation you have ever been in?
There are so many choices for this one. 8 September 2018, I was attacked and bitten by a pack of German Shepherd and German Shepherd mix dogs (4 or 5 of them). The deepest bites are still there but, thankfully, are no longer hurting. The most recent event was being hit by a falling tree, which made my chest hurt something fierce.
What’s your favourite culture?
Until they legalized abortion, I would have said the Irish culture. Now, I’m not so sure that I really have a favorite.
What do you dislike about your own culture?
The things that I don’t like about my own culture are things that I don’t like in other cultures. Those things are arrogance, meanness, lack of compassion, etc.
Your favourite type of travel?
I don’t really like to travel anymore due to health limitations, but driving would be my preference.
Do you feel understood?
Not really, no. Those that do understand me are few and far between.
How do you feel about your body?
I am not at all impressed by it. Most of the time lately, it makes me downright angry with how it has turned against me. In all fairness to my body, it didn’t choose these limitations. A botched surgery and corporate greed did this to us both.
What is your favourite film?
Gone With The Wind
Are you adventurous with food?
I used to be. Now, I have too many intolerances and allergies to risk adventure with food.
Have you ever hated a place and wanted to come home?
Are you bothered about others seeing you naked?
Yes. I would rather they didn’t.
Are you a good loser?
It really depends on who I am losing to and what I am losing.
My husband to another woman? NO!
My baby blue teddy bear pantsuit to my little sister? NO!
My place on the softball team? Okay, because I wasn’t any good at it anyway.
What was the favourite time of your life?
I imagine that was when David and I were newlyweds, without a care in the world.
Do you have a close family connection?
Yes, but more so to my deceased ancestors than those still living. I spend more time with them (in family history research) than I do with the living ones, other than David and our children.
Can you speak another language?
Yes, I rock the language of Forgetful Old Lady.
Will Trump be in for another term?
Who knows at this point?
What are your thoughts on English people?
I think, historically, they have been a brutal people. According to Ancestry DNA, I am over 80% English. However, it is my Irish/Scottish ancestry that has my heart and soul.
Was life better without mobile phones?
YES! Well, it was better without smartphones. Mobile phones, the “dumb” ones, can be a lifesaver and a time saver, too. The way folks are always running around with their faces in their smartphones, they are quite clearly a life taker.
What has been the biggest change in your life?
Becoming a mother was the biggest change in my life. No longer was I free to just go and do things at the drop of a hat. I had little people and their needs and feelings to consider. This brought some significant changes to my life. I had real responsibilities and lives depending on me.
Is climate change real?
I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know the facts on this one. I do know that it seems to get hotter now than it did when I was a kid.
Why do you like answering questions?
I like answering questions (at least this kind) because it gives me something to do for a post and gets my mind off all of the overwhelming things in my life for just a few moments.
