Believe
I believe. I have believed since I was a little girl. I don’t remember ever not believing, but I remember quite well that night when I went to the altar.
Our church had played the movie “The Burning Hell” and it scared me into the walk. I didn’t want those black shadow creatures coming for me. To this day, the thought of black shadow creatures scares me.
But, I know that my Heavenly Father is more powerful than any demon out there. He can obliterate them, if He so chooses. They do not have to haunt my life and have no power over it. They can be sent away in Jesus name. I believe that with my whole heart and have called on His name many times in the 53 years that I have been on this earth.
My walk of faith with Him started as a little girl, was made more that night, and has continued to be a dynamic part of my life.
I am Suzanne Gunter McClendon and I am a Christian, a Christ follower.
May He bless you all!
Good for you to proclaim your belief in God. Christians are so hated in some circles it seems. I stand with you.
Have a blessed day. ♥

Thank you. 🙂 ❤
I’ve noticed that, too. I don’t understand why we are so hated. I also don’t understand why we are supposed to be tolerant of others’ beliefs, yet it doesn’t work the other way around.
Thanks! You have a blessed day, too. 🙂

I am very impressed by the fact that your belief started so early in life. Have a blessed day!

Thank you. I was raised in church from the beginning,. Even though my parents were not living the Christian life, they made sure we attended church every Sunday, even after they stopped going. When I was a teenager, I was in church every time the doors were open. I loved going. 🙂
Have a blessed day!

Me too! I can’t ever remember a time in my life of not believing. It’s like asking, was there ever a time you remember not being female, or having grey eyes? lol I got “scare cam’d” too, in 1st grade, by a teacher at school who told me I would burn forever in the fires of hell if I didn’t accept the Lord as my Savior. I didn’t know that I hadn’t [the thought of not having accepted Christ just never occurred to me at 6], and stayed up all night praying for the Lord to save me. I guess the silly woman thought the fear of God was stronger than the love of God, lol.
Have a blessed evening! ❤

I guess so. 🙂 I don’t think that scaring little kids into it is necessarily the way to go. But, maybe some folks need a good scaring or they’ll never take that step.
I always believed, but I guess I saw that walk to the altar as “fire insurance”. I didn’t want to get burned, but even more than that, I didn’t want those spooky shadow creatures to come and get me.
You have to wonder sometimes what on earth is going through the minds of alleged adults that spend time terrifying little kids.
Have a blessed day. ❤

Fire insurance – love that!
Yep, some adults were too over the top.
