Afraid

“Afraid” may not be the exact word for what I am feeling, but I know it is in there somewhere. Afraid of where my life is going. Not just my life, but our lives.

Security has been breached, violated. Nothing feels safe anymore. I know, in the end, the things of this earth don’t matter. But, this earth is where I am now and where I am not feeling safe, where I’ve been violated. Where our daughter has been violated. Where our friend has been attacked, at gunpoint, while conducting his business, not once, but twice in less than a year. Where I have been attacked by dogs and had my lungs filled with the constant cigarette smoke of people that care more about their wants than the safety of those around them, including their own children.

Ok, well, the timer went off in the middle of that thought bubble. There you have it.

Our lives are indeed changing. The bad are now the good and the good are now the bad. It’s all about what “I” want and not about your wants and needs. It’s a sad thing to see.

    Have a blessed day. ♥

    • I agree, it is very sad. The children of the smokers I referred to beg their parents to stop, but they don’t. The husband uses the wife’s smoking as justification for his smoking, yet she refuses solidarity in quitting.

The one girl child loves singing and I’m afraid for her, what the smoking can ultimately do to her, and take her dreams away from her, not to mention endangering her life and those of her siblings, and the rest of us in the second-hand smoke zone.

Thank you. Have a blessed day. 🙂 ♥
