Here are my responses:
September is the perfect month for dreaming of the leaf color changes back home.
This month, I am looking forward to finding new recipes to try for our cooking channel, From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa. I hope that it someday becomes a channel that many folks enjoy visiting.
My morning routine always includes a mad dash to the bathroom. Nothing else is going to happen before that happens.
I have a love-hate relationship with the aging process. I love the fact that my hair is turning the shade of my foremothersโ hair. I have looked forward to that for years, especially while brushing my Grand-Aunt Maeโs long, beautiful hair. I do not love the fact that my body is fighting me every step of the way, every way that it can otherwise. There are too many challenges to overcome. Doing the things to overcome one are made impossible because of another. It is frustrating, but hey, Iโll have great hair in the process. ๐
Please visit our daughter Maggie and her cat Martha over at: Marthaโs Daily Mews.
Have a blessed weekend, yโall!

Cool. ๐ My sister found gray hairs in my head in my mid-twenties. Our mama went to high school with a boy that already had a head full of gray hair. I don’t know what caused his to be that way. He’s the only one I ever knew to be that way so young, still a teenager.
Oh yes, our bodies will be perfect when we finally go HOME. ๐
Have a blessed day!

Oh wow! So I’m not alone after all haha!!! Yes, it had young man in his teens whom I attended high school with which we call Secondary School here on de islands his entire hair was grey already! I think it has something to do with the genes or hereditary.
Yes, IN A WINK OF AN EYE! โค
You too dear, blessings!

Nope, not alone at all. There are many of us early grayers out here. ๐
How interesting that you went to school with a boy that also had a full head of gray hair.
Thank you. Ours is going to be a rainy weekend due to big storms in the area. I hope your island isn’t being affected by these hurricanes. โค

Haha well I’m glad I’m not!!!
Yep, I’m sure he dyed it by now of course, maybe, maybe not.
You’re so welcome, oh my! Sorry to hear that I’ll be praying for you guys โค remember even the winds and waves obey God Almighty so that storm will be still in Jesus Name!
No our island isn’t, its sunny, bright and beautiful as per, thanking God for His hands of grace and mercy over us! Do you know our islands is Named after God? Yep, the only islands/country in THE WORLD is Named after the Holy Trinity! ๐

Very cool! What is the name of your island? Is it Trinidad? I am glad that you are not having the bad storms. There is a hurricane (Florence) apparently headed to South Carolina, which is where we used to live and much of our family is.
Yes, praise the Lord, that even the wind and the seas obey Him!
Have a blessed day. ๐

Great! I’ve heard of Trinidad and Tobago. My husband went to college with some boys from those islands back in the late 90s/early 2000s. We’ve never been there, though.
So far, where we are now, we aren’t in any danger of an impending hurricane, but my mother and my husband’s aunt are in an area expected to be heavily impacted by Hurricane Florence, if it hasn’t made landfall already. I don’t know its current status.
Yes, He is in control, which is a great comfort! Thank you, too. ๐

Oh wow! That’s really awesome! I hope he’s still in contact with them of course! ๐
Its a beautiful island despite our troubles but still blessed by Almighty God! โค
That’s good to know, praise God! I’ve been following it up on our local news channel. I’m watching and praying for you guys!!!
You’re welcome. And thanks!

He is friends with them on Facebook, but doesn’t ever really go on FB. He emails with them on occasion, I believe. One of them works in Washington DC now, some sort of political job.
I’ve seen photos and it is an absolutely beautiful island where you live. We don’t see what like that here. All I ever see here is muddy brown water, never any that is clear and blue.
Thank you for the prayers!
Have a blessed weekend. ๐

Suzanne,
I’m fighting age every step of the way. I can’t say that I ever looked forward to my hair turning white but now that it is and after several failed attempts with hair colorings, I’m embracing the glitter entwined locks. ๐ Your yeast rolls recipe looks simple enough and sounds an awful lot like what I’ve used in the past but don’t have near the success with making good ones every time. My rolls don’t turn out fluffy. What am I doing wrong? I hope you and David have a blessed weekend.

What kind of yeast are you using? If it is active dry yeast, then it really needs two rise times, one before you shape it and one after it. That has been my experience. The ones I did with the rapid rise yeast only needed the one rise time, after shaping. Also, the active dry yeast needs to be proofed first (soaked in warm, not hot, water). That step isn’t necessary with the rapid rise yeast as it all gets mixed in together. Also, it is important for the dough to rise in a warm area. Cool air and cool drafts will keep it from rising like it should. Other than that, I can’t think of what would keep them from rising unless the yeast is dead to start with, which can happen, too.
Thanks! I hope that you and your hubby have a blessed weekend, too. ๐

Suzanne,
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve done all the right things you mentioned. I often wonder if it’s all in the yeast. I’m glad you explained the difference in the yeasts, though. I did not know the purpose of each, although I always allow my recipes plenty of time to rise. I plan to make yeast rolls soon and will make sure to have fresh yeast for my recipe. ๐

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I cannot wait for the leaves to change. Autumn is my favorite color. And I hear you on the mad dash to the bathroom in the morning. In my family, I’m known as the one who has a bladder the size of a pea. Have a beautiful weekend!

Absolutely agree with #4. While I enjoy knowing more about life and being calmer, the changes in my body sometimes are irritating for me.

Thank you, Viola. Hopefully we can get to a point of peace with our body changes or a least a level of civility with it. Me and my body argue all the time these days. ๐ I’m sorry that yours is frustrating you, too.
Have a blessed weekend.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I look forward to your next cooking video .

Thank you, too, Ellen, especially for all of your encouragement. ๐ We’re working on the third video right now. David is waiting for me to record the audio (which I do when the others are asleep) and he’s editing the video. Hopefully it will be up in a few days. This one is a brownie video. We’re also working out details on Maggie’s cookie video. There were a lot of mishaps with our recording of that one, so we’ll be trying again. If all goes well, her video will be #4.
I get up a lot during most nights, but still have the morning rush. I’m sorry that you have to go a lot while you’re trying to sleep, too. It gets pretty aggravating, doesn’t it?
Have a blessed weekend. ๐

HAH! What is it with humans and the bathroom. TW can’t feed me breakfast until she goes in there.

I can’t speak for TW, but I have had bladder issues my entire life, including childhood. Then, I had surgery 8 years ago to allegedly fix things, but fixing is not what happened. That surgery destroyed all hopes of me having any holding power and living my life more than 20 minutes from a bathroom. ๐ฆ
I’m sorry that your breakfast has to wait while she’s goes to potty. That’s how it is around here. It’s just one of those things. Have a blessed weekend. ๐

Today is my birthday and today I’m 67 years old. I think we all have a love/hate relationship with aging. It beats the alternative though so no complaining from me.
