Here are my responses:

September is the perfect month for dreaming of the leaf color changes back home.

This month, I am looking forward to finding new recipes to try for our cooking channel, From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa. I hope that it someday becomes a channel that many folks enjoy visiting.

My morning routine always includes a mad dash to the bathroom. Nothing else is going to happen before that happens.

I have a love-hate relationship with the aging process. I love the fact that my hair is turning the shade of my foremothersโ€™ hair. I have looked forward to that for years, especially while brushing my Grand-Aunt Maeโ€™s long, beautiful hair. I do not love the fact that my body is fighting me every step of the way, every way that it can otherwise. There are too many challenges to overcome. Doing the things to overcome one are made impossible because of another. It is frustrating, but hey, Iโ€™ll have great hair in the process. ๐Ÿ™‚

Please visit our daughter Maggie and her cat Martha over at: Marthaโ€™s Daily Mews.

Have a blessed weekend, yโ€™all!

  3. Suzanne,

I’m fighting age every step of the way. I can’t say that I ever looked forward to my hair turning white but now that it is and after several failed attempts with hair colorings, I’m embracing the glitter entwined locks. ๐Ÿ™‚ Your yeast rolls recipe looks simple enough and sounds an awful lot like what I’ve used in the past but don’t have near the success with making good ones every time. My rolls don’t turn out fluffy. What am I doing wrong? I hope you and David have a blessed weekend.

    • What kind of yeast are you using? If it is active dry yeast, then it really needs two rise times, one before you shape it and one after it. That has been my experience. The ones I did with the rapid rise yeast only needed the one rise time, after shaping. Also, the active dry yeast needs to be proofed first (soaked in warm, not hot, water). That step isn’t necessary with the rapid rise yeast as it all gets mixed in together. Also, it is important for the dough to rise in a warm area. Cool air and cool drafts will keep it from rising like it should. Other than that, I can’t think of what would keep them from rising unless the yeast is dead to start with, which can happen, too.
Thanks! I hope that you and your hubby have a blessed weekend, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I cannot wait for the leaves to change. Autumn is my favorite color. And I hear you on the mad dash to the bathroom in the morning. In my family, I’m known as the one who has a bladder the size of a pea. Have a beautiful weekend!

Absolutely agree with #4. While I enjoy knowing more about life and being calmer, the changes in my body sometimes are irritating for me.

I get up so many times during the night to pee that by morning there is no rush ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a nice weekend. XO

    • Thank you, too, Ellen, especially for all of your encouragement. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re working on the third video right now. David is waiting for me to record the audio (which I do when the others are asleep) and he’s editing the video. Hopefully it will be up in a few days. This one is a brownie video. We’re also working out details on Maggie’s cookie video. There were a lot of mishaps with our recording of that one, so we’ll be trying again. If all goes well, her video will be #4.

I get up a lot during most nights, but still have the morning rush. I’m sorry that you have to go a lot while you’re trying to sleep, too. It gets pretty aggravating, doesn’t it?
      Have a blessed weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚

HAH! What is it with humans and the bathroom. TW can’t feed me breakfast until she goes in there.

    • I can’t speak for TW, but I have had bladder issues my entire life, including childhood. Then, I had surgery 8 years ago to allegedly fix things, but fixing is not what happened. That surgery destroyed all hopes of me having any holding power and living my life more than 20 minutes from a bathroom. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I’m sorry that your breakfast has to wait while she’s goes to potty. That’s how it is around here. It’s just one of those things. Have a blessed weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today is my birthday and today I’m 67 years old. I think we all have a love/hate relationship with aging. It beats the alternative though so no complaining from me.

    Have a fabulous weekend. โ™ฅ
