Here are the fill-ins:

  1. My favorite scent is ________________.
  2. I hope to __________________ this weekend.
  3. _________ is music to my ears.
  4. Home is where _________.

Here are my responses:

One of my favorites scents is fresh-mown grass.

I hope to get a new air-dry clay tile made this weekend.  I also saw some really pretty paper clay ornaments on Pinterest that I want to read more about.

“The bills are all paid and we have $x amount left over to work with” is music to my ears! Too bad the radio doesn’t play that song too often around here. It’s okay, though. Heavenly Father gets us through somehow. He always has and always will.

Home is where you feel welcomed and loved. That can be anywhere, even in a cemetery. I know, I’m a weirdo, but one of the places that I felt most at home, most wanted, was at Sharon UMC cemetery. It is where my 3rd great-grandfather, Berry Madison Pressley, his two wives, and several of their children and grandchildren are buried. Going into that place was like walking into a huge, love-filled embrace.

Our daughter Maggie has a new blog for her furbaby Martha. You can find it at: Martha’s Daily Mews

Our Marine needs your help.  Please see New York or Bust.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. I like to be able to say the words that are music to your ears. It has been a long time ago since I could do that. I love you, my Zing!

  2. Fresh mown grass is a lovely smell, and having money left at the end of the month instead of month left at the end of the money is a true blessing.

    • It most definitely is a blessing and one that I hope will come around here more often. 🙂 But, even if it doesn’t, there are other blessings, like not getting bitten by the “danger noodle” that fell on me in the carport the other day. “Danger noodle” is what our oldest daughter calls snakes. This one fell out of the air and bounced off me. It appeared to be a dark version of a coral snake. Thankfully, coral snakes usually run away from us and not toward us. At least that has been our experience.
      Have a blessed weekend!

  3. I love the smell of freshly mown grass. And then I sneeze and recall it is something I am allergic to! LOL! Money left over at the end of the month? Wow! Have a blessed weekend!

    • I’m sorry that it makes you sneeze. Nature does that to me, too. When our youngest daughter was a little one, the smell of fresh cut grass made her throw up. Until her, I’d never seen it do someone like that.
I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too. 🙂

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I really like how the scent of freshly mowed grass brings about all sorts of memories of spring and summer and nice weather. But, at the same time, it makes me sneeze something fierce. And I really admire that you are learning pottery, the skill of your ancestors. I also admire your perspective on #4. Home really could be anywhere, as long as that place is where you feel a sense of belonging. Have a beautiful day!

    • Thank you. I appreciate your nice comment very much. Sneezing is no fun and, at this stage of things, leads to other issues, too. Isn’t getting older a blast? haha
I agree about smells bringing about memories. The smell of Sea Breeze takes me back to the summer of 1978 at my grand-aunt’s home. It gives me warm fuzzies. Dove and Ivory soap both take me back to my maternal grandma’s home. I love these smells, too.
What is your favorite smell-induced memory?
      Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

Our Female Human said an enthusiastic “yes” to the grass smell comment. We felines don’t think that aroma is anywhere near stinky enough for us!
