October is the perfect time to get spooky!

Halloween isn’t something that we make a big deal about here at McClendon Villa.  The most important part of it is the candy, so, we just go get the candy and try not to eat it all at one time.

Every October, I wish it would hurry up and be November and Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday. AND, I wonder when we’ll finally get cooler weather.

My experience with the supernatural world is not something that I share with many folks because those that do not, or cannot, understand it tend to be rather belittling about it. Just because they haven’t experienced or don’t understand certain things, is reason enough in their book to discount it completely.

Have a blessed weekend, y’all!

  1. Suzanne,

Who cares what others think? Not me! Anytime you want to share something that’s weird or out of the ordinary then your blog is a good place to do because I don’t think you’ll find too many people who’ll judge ya and even if they do, who cares right? Now, you got me wondering about your supernatural encounters? Do tell! 🙂 You had me smiling about eating all the candy. We do not do Halloween here but we do buy candy and we eat all. Okay, not all at once. Usually, whatever is left I put away in the freezer so we will have something to satisfy our sweet tooth at another time. Candy does pretty well in the freezer, too.The creepy image is great! Sorry for visiting late. Things get a bit hectic on the weekends. Have a good week, my friend!

    • Hi Cathy,

I shouldn’t worry so much about what others say, but that’s what happens. I will tell you about one thing that happened to me. First, I need to explain that for me “supernatural” also includes things that come from Heavenly Father…things beyond human abilities. When I was a young teenager, I had been to church with my siblings. I don’t know what we’d been exposed to that day that made us think the brilliant thought of “Oh, let’s have a seance”…but that’s what we tried to do. I say “tried” because, for one thing, we weren’t supposed to be messing with matches or lighters, so the whole candle lighting thing was out of the question. We improvised. We put a flashlight in the center of our circle. You also should know that our weather that day had been great. As soon as we sat down in the circle, turned on the flashlight, and joined hands, there was thunder booming and lightening cracking like you wouldn’t believe! We took that as a loud and clear message from Heavenly Father that we were dabbling in the forbidden and we stopped right then and there. I can’t speak for my siblings, but I have never wandered down that road again!

I don’t know that I’ve ever frozen candy…it doesn’t last that long around here. haha

I’m glad that you enjoyed the creepy image. I thought it was pretty spooky with that shadowy hand on the wall. 🙂

There’s no such thing as late visiting here at the Villa. You’re welcome whenever you can make it. 🙂

Have a blessed week, my friend!

Its sad that people can put a muzzle on us.
I like giving out candy to the children on Halloween and I like October for the changing leaves and the beginning of chilly weather!

    • I agree. I have been “muzzled” more ways that I can express over the last year (on other matters). It makes me want to scream!

The Halloween just before we got married, we sat on the porch of our soon-to-be home with a ton of candy, waiting for trick-or-treaters. Nobody came, even though we were well-known in that small town. Not one child was brought to our house. It was most frustrating to us. Since we’ve moved here to Texas, no kids have stopped here either, but we don’t wait for them anymore either. We just do our own thing here in the house. I’m glad that the kiddies come to your house! It is so fun to see their little costumes. 🙂
I’m so glad you get to live somewhere that actually has a fall…what a blessing! We live here in eternal summer.
      Have a blessed day. 🙂
