Dandelion Day!

Yep, there is a day honoring dandelions, those beautiful little yellow flowers that many folks see as weeds and try to ban from their yards.  I would love to have a yard full of them!

I learned about Dandelion Day from Mimi over at messymimi’s meanderings.  In the history section of her post today, she listed:

Dandelion Day/Springfest Weekend — University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, US
(annual celebration used as a respite to diffuse tension around exam time; through Sunday)

I wish the dandelions that other folks are evicting would just run over to our yard to stay. 🙂 They are more than welcome here!

  1. I don’t mind their yellow crowns, it’s their puff balls that slay me.

    • I understand. They sneeze me to death, too. But, the “blowflower” is one of the best parts about them. haha I remember being a little kid and picking them and blow the little things to who-knows-where. They didn’t make me sneeze back then. 🙂
      Have a blessed night.

Those look prettier than the ones around here.

    • Thanks. The ones around here are a bit fluffier than I remember them being back home in SC. Maybe there are different varieties of them. Some of the ones around here look like they’ve been oozed (a phrase from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie). They are huge!
      Have a blessed night. 🙂
