Q is for quiz.
Did your teachers give you pop quizzes when you were in school? Mine did. That always livened up the day. The funny thing is, some teachers told in advance when the pop quiz was going to happen. From my way of thinking, there’s not too much ‘popping’ going on if we already know it’s going to happen.

I love the look of Queen Anne’s Lace, but ours always seemed to attract jiggers. Do you have that problem?

Things in this yard are very good about attracting kissing bugs, which aren’t nearly as pleasant as they may sound!

We have what are called ‘love bugs’ … they are annoying and when one splats on the car, the enzymes (or whatever) need to be washed off because if it stays on a long time, the chemicals compromise the paint. As per jiggers, they are super small, sort of like no-see-ems and burrow into one’s skin…. Not pleasant!

We have love bugs all over the place here. Some areas one can hardly walk without running into one.
I wonder if your “jiggers” are what we grew up calling “chiggers”? They are little burrowing creatures and make one really itchy. Another name for them is “red bug”.

Love bugs are the worst when they are swarming and one is running down the interstate at 70mph…. Your chiggers sound like our jiggers. Interesting how similar names are, yet the slight variances from one place to another.

Yes, that is very interesting. I wonder if there is any difference in the creatures themselves.
We had to walk through a swarm of the love bugs not too long ago. They don’t worry me, but I don’t really like bugs of any type (aside from things like ladybugs and rolypolys) on me.

You’re welcome, my friend. 🙂 I am a weirdo when it comes to various flowers. Some of them I thought were just totally ugly when I was a kid that I think are absolutely beautiful now. Hydrangeas and Queen Anne’s Lace are two such flowers. I don’t know how I could have ever thought them ugly. They really are delicate looking and its like a hundred different little flowers all in one. They are great. 🙂 They wake up around here as the other wildflowers (bluebonnets, paintbrushes, etc.) are on their way out. It is a continuous unfolding of beautiful flowers around here. 🙂 The black-eyed Susans never even went to sleep this past year; they just continued to bloom right on through our “winter”. haha
