Friday_Fill-In_BadgeHere are the fill-ins:

1. An Easter (or Passover) tradition I have is ______________.

I don’t know that I really have any Easter traditions anymore. When I was a kid, we went to church and also Easter egg hunts (not always on Easter Sunday). We also went to Granny Gunter’s house for lunch. We carried on the idea of a special Easter lunch for many years here at McClendon Villa, but since the kids have all moved on with their lives, many things have changed. This is one of them.

2. My favorite flavor of ice cream is _____________.

If it is chocolate, it is my favorite. I love Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate, and Moose Tracks, and Rocky Road, and those swirly ones that combine chocolate and vanilla, and several others.

3. One of my favorite Easter/Passover memories is _____________________.

One of my favorite Easter memories is going to Granny’s house for lunch. She was the best cook ever. And, she loved me.

4. My favorite Spring flower is _____________________.

All of them! I love all of the spring flowers. AND we finally got some dandelions in our yard. I am very happy about that!

  2. Dandelions, when yellow, are fine, but once they go to see, they kill me. Allergies, the bane of spring. Easter traditions include going to church and a big meal. In our case, it’s ham and lamb, scalloped potatoes, vegetables (Mixed beans and baby carrots this year), rolls, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

    • I’m sorry that allergies get you, too. I’ve been sneezing like mad lately.
Your Easter meal sounds yummy, well, except the lamb. I’ve never had lamb. David has had mutton and said it is really good. I hope you enjoy your meal and time with family. 🙂 Have a blessed Easter weekend!

      • Lamb, properly cooked is actually a lot like steak. It’s tender, and served with mint jelly, is delicious. Unfortunately, it’s a rare treat since it is extremely expensive. (lamb to fee the 12 I’ll have for dinner coast 94.00 CND this year. My husband’s family is Scots. Lamb was a mainstay for them. I never had it until after we were married. My daughter’s husband was Greek. Lamb is a big thing in that culture, too. So, instead of just the ham we had when I was a child, I’ve added the lamb, too.

I’ve never had lamb, but once, and I didn’t like it. We’d usually have a ham for Easter. Yay for getting a dandelion, since you were wanting some. 🙂

    • I’ve never had lamb, to my knowledge. My daddy tried sneaking all sorts of weird stuff onto our dinner plates, but I don’t think lamb ever happened. He tried to tell me that a fried rabbit was fried chicken, but I didn’t buy it for a minute. haha

Thank you! I’m very happy that some finally came to our yard. 🙂

Have a blessed and happy Easter weekend!
