Annie Black Gunter |
A is for Annie. Annie Black Gunter was my great-grandmother, through my daddy’s daddy. My daddy knew her as “Big Mama”. I am named for her and her sister Suzie.
April is a big birthday month for our family. All of our grandmothers, except for one, were born in April.
In the order of their birth date (month/day), here they are:
Maggie Pressley Spence |
Maggie Pressley Spence, my maternal grandma, was born 2 April 1917.
Evelyn Floree Fowler Gunter |
Evelyn Floree Fowler Gunter, my paternal granny, was born 14 April 1921.
Ruby Fowler McClendon |
Ruby Fowler McClendon, David’s paternal grandma, was born 29 April 1910.
These great ladies have all gone on to their Heavenly reward. We are very blessed, and forever grateful, to have had them in our lives.
Wow! What a wonderful tribute and a great start to the challenge. I love you. ZIng! Zing!

Thanks, Emily. They won’t all necessarily have to do with family, but that’s how it is turning out so far. I am mostly just doing random topics for this challenge this year, unless a definite plan decides to hit me upside the head soon. 🙂 Have a blessed Sunday!

Nice photos, looking forward to you posts for A to Z challenge.
Pleased you are feeling better than you were at Christmas. Hope David’s feeling well also.
Have a nice weekend.

Thank you, Elsie, on all counts. We had a scare with David’s blood sugar levels dropping very low a couple of weeks ago, but he is okay now. Thank you. 🙂 I hope that you have a blessed weekend, too.

Suzanne, your granny has the same birthday as my baby brother. He would be 51 on the 14th but the Lord took him home just after his 40th bday. I can’t believe he’s been gone eleven years. It doesn’t seem like it! Thanks for sharing! Have a good day, my friend!

I am so sorry about your baby brother, Cathy. He was so very young. If I counted correctly, he was about 8 months younger than me. It is amazing how quickly the time goes by, yet seems like it was only yesterday. {{{Hugs}}}
Have a blessed evening.
