The month of February has been pretty much a blur and I am glad that it is almost over. It has been an unforgettable month, that’s for sure! There is so much that I could say…parts of the month would have been easier if other people weren’t involved. The alleged reprieve was anything but helpful. In fact, I came very close to slapping someone and I am not an aggressive person (in most circumstances). Thankfully, I had some semblance of self-control, which is very hard to have when someone is calling me stupid and ugly.
Parts of it were a blast. Some parts quite literally. About 7:30am on Valentine’s Day, we had a tornado in this little town and several surrounding towns. I said “a” tornado, but 6 have been confirmed. The tornado didn’t damage our house, thank goodness. It did knock down our mailbox and took our trash can to somewhere in Kansas. It must have missed us, though, because it is back out there now. Maybe it was another boomerang trash can. 🙂
Other homes in town were not so lucky. Some received significant damage. Trees also were shot from one side of the highway to the other, banging up cars and lifting them in the process. It was totally terrifying for those in the middle of it. David and I slept through it. I heard the sirens go off and the photographer part of me wanted to go out and try to get a twister picture (it is on my bucket list). But, I laid there until the feeling passed. We rode out Hurricane Ike the same way: asleep.
There is a lot of work out there for the folks that deal with tree removal and yard cleanup. This is one of the trees down at the local college and one of our buddies working on the cleanup.
AND, the bluebonnets are here way, way early! I found this baby a full two weeks earlier than last year’s first bluebonnet. I’m a happy camper. 🙂
AND, we’re going to have a new daughter-in-law by the end of the week.
All that to say, we’re back now and hope to get to our regular posting in short order, starting with Share Your World tomorrow.
It is good to be home again!
Have a blessed night.
It has been one whopper of a month.

Yes, and thankfully I had my Big Mac to help me through it. I love you, my Zing. 🙂

Thank you, Emily! It is going to be a very emotional week with our Marine getting married. We won’t get to be there for it. 😦
Other than that, it should be a great week. The wildflowers are here early and we don’t have any “have to” things on the list this week. Sounds perfect to me. 🙂
I hope that you have a blessed week, too!

Thanks, Emily. I just hope this works out for them. We don’t really know anything about the girl and they’ve never met in person (or at least hadn’t at the point we found out about her, which was on January 26).
We want our Marine to be happy and if his happiness is to be found with this girl, then we’re all for it. Have a blessed day!

February has been a busy month here, too. I guess it is trying to cram 30-31 days into 28, after all! Glad you’re back, and unharmed by the tornado. Those trash cans get around! Our neighborhood flooded once, and we ended up with an extra can. I checked all along our street to see if someone was missing one. I ended up calling the city and giving them the number on it and found it belonged to a house behind and and block to the east of us.

Wow, that can did get around, didn’t it? I’m glad you found its home.
Thank you. We’re glad to be back!
I hope that your busy month has been a great one, with only good things happening.
Have a blessed week. 🙂

Whoa, wait a minute, your son is getting married? Awesome, congratulations. Btw, whoever is calling you names, shame on them. Keeping you in prayer.

Thanks. Please keep the both in your prayers.
Thank you also about the name-calling. This woman is at least a year older than me and acts like a five year old. If you read David’s recent Back in the Saddle post, you’ll see some of the things she’s done over the last month. We think she has some real problems. Yes, I know I have anger issues at times, but calling me stupid and ugly is definitely not the way to diffuse any anger on my part. If anything, it will just stir it up!
Have a blessed day. 🙂
