Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle?
Of the choices given, I think a motorcycle would be the coolest. I still remember the fun I had, and the terror, when Daddy would ride me around on his motorcycle. However, I could not be in charge of driving one myself, so it wouldn’t be something that I needed.
A tricycle would be more my speed at this point in life. A shiny red one with an “ah-ooga” horn on it would be just about perfect.
What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year?
There is no simple answer for this one. There are at least a hundred different things that I feel an urgency to get done this year. One of the top things on my list is to see our Marine again. Next is getting to see the graves of all our 2nd great-grandparents. Another is to see the Jefferson Memorial. I want to go close enough to photograph the mountains at Big Bend National Park, which is here in Texas, but forever away from where we live. I have absolutely no desire to drive in those mountains and hiking them is out of the question. I just want to photograph them
So, the “one thing” that I want to accomplish this year is EVERYTHING!
What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you?
Leaving the hospital on May 30, with David coming home with me after his strokes.
Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon?
Kite flying is fun, but I think that flying in a hot air balloon would be totally awesome. Imagine the photographs that could be taken from up there! It would be great!
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful for our girls being home with us for the holidays, for getting to voice talk to Davey, and for the holiday food that we had.
I can’t think of anything that I am looking forward to in the coming week specifically. I am not looking forward to the drive back to the Island and leaving our baby girl down there, especially not after the poisoned water experience they recently had.
Oh oh! I take that back! I am looking forward to a week of no doctor appointments! Usually, David’s wound care appointment is on Mondays. Last week, due to Christmas holidays, they were closed on Monday so we went on Thursday. The spot on his ankle is doing well enough that he can skip an appointment this week entirely and pick up where we left off next Monday. I am very glad of that!
Please be sure to visit David over at Random Thoughts and Observations.

The balloon picture you included was great. I think you could take some outstanding pictures from up there, too. I love you. Zing! Zing!

Thank you. I’d sure love the opportunity to try. Can you imagine the balloon following along the Colorado River, the beautiful shots that could be made?
I love you, too, my Zing!

Hope you get some of those things checked off your ‘everything’ list! 🙂 I’ll just bet Big Bend is awesome. Closest I’ve been is Ft. Davis, Alpine, and Marfa, and those mountains were incredible to us here from the flat lands. haha!!

Thank you!
I bet it is beautiful out there! The farthest that I’ve been west is San Antonio and I think even San Antonio is forever away from Big Bend. Do you have any pictures of the mountains that you saw?

It would be so cool to take photos from a hot air balloon! It might be difficult for me to work the camera as I would probably be holding onto the sides for dear life 🙂

I understand that sentiment completely as I’d probably be doing the same thing. But, then again, I was the kid in the sky buckets at Six Flags terrifying my mama with the statement, “LOOK! We can see the tops of the trees!” haha
