Here are my answers:
I think that manners and decorum should be taught in schools (as well as at home!). I think that it should go beyond the “please”, “thank you”, “yes ma’am”, “no, sir”, etc., that children are taught in kindergarten and first grade. The lessons should grow with the child from elementary school through high school into lessons about how to act in various social situations. This should definitely involve lessons about getting their noses out of their cell phones long enough to interact with the person with whom they are having dinner.
The last things that I remember were some knitted hats that we sent back home to our church in South Carolina. Also, during our de-cluttering, I found a Fire Safety program that included a book and a tape and gave it to the kids next door.
I don’t know that I have a “Suz” song. The song that meant the most to me when I was a little girl, the one I requested every Sunday morning at church, was “The Old Rugged Cross“. As a teenager, my favorite song that our teen choir sang was “Jesus is the Cornerstone“. As a young adult, my favorite song was Sandi Patty’s rendition of “We Shall Behold Him“. As a middle-aged adult, my favorite…and the most peaceful song I’ve ever heard…is Enya’s version of Silent Night, titled “Oiche Chiun“. If you’ve never heard it, please click the title to listen to it. It is absolutely beautiful.
Three things that I am thankful for this week are: The US Marine Corps, which had its 241st birthday yesterday; the right to vote; and my husband and our children.
Have a blessed weekend, y’all!
Agree! More manners, please! 🙂

Our answers to #1 were the same. I like your reasons to be thankful. Happy (belated) Veterans Day!

Thank you! I hope that you had a happy Veteran’s Day, too. Ours would have been absolutely perfect had our Marine been here with us. We’ve been able to talk with him, though, so that is great, too. 🙂 Have a great night and a blessed Sunday!
