Please take even more pride in your marine. Only 28% of the American public is qualified to serve in the military and far fewer choose to do so. After he has served we will welcome him into our brotherhood of veterans.
I served a decade in SAC (Air Force Strategic Air Command). Though SAC was abolished with the passing of General LeMay we still say there was SAC and then there was the rest of the Air Force.
I’m sure your son will quickly agree “Once a Marine, always a Marine”. SAC is much the same way. I still have very close friends who served with me 50 years ago.

Thank you for your service to this country and to your family for their sacrifices as well.
I do not think it is possible for me to have any more pride than I do already for our Marine. If you look over both of my blogs and my husband’s blog, you will see that we often post about our Marine. We are very proud of him and how well he is doing. He is great at what he does and is often called in to fix things that others aren’t able to fix. He’s a whiz at computers and has been since we got our first one when he was three years old.
He is one of the Select Few and we are blessed to call him “Son”.

His Marine experience is just beginning. My wife and I used to live near the Airzona/Mexico border. In our settlement was a Vietnam Marine who owned a gas station. Scores of Snowbird Marines waited to buy his gas for their motorhomes.

I am glad that the other Marines were supporting his business. The veterans have to fight for so much. It isn’t right that they should have to fight for their medical care or anything else. In Houston, there are many homeless veterans and, from what we’ve been told, there are rules there against helping the homeless. Can you believe that? Who makes rules against helping people? I just don’t get that at all.

Suzanne, a special thank-you to your son for serving this country I love so much! My prayer is the American people put in people with the same passion, love, and dedication for this nation that our founding fathers had. We need to elect men and women who put Americans/America first, as well as God. Let’s stand together in prayer as the elections approach. This will be a defining moment in this country come November 8th. One candidate offers a chance for this country to survive and the other is bent on destroying it every chance she gets. I’m not American, but I still say a huge THANK YOU for brave men (and women of course) who serve and protect the rest of us. He looks handsome in those dress uniforms – I love that uniform, it’s so sharp! Blessings to your Marine!

Thank you, Leslie! I appreciate that very much. The first photo was taken as he was getting ready for the Marine Corps Ball. The second one was from family day activities when he graduated from basic training. The middle one on the second row was from one of our Skype conversations. I am not sure of the occasions for the other photos, but I am very glad to have them all. Thank you so much for the blessings for him. 🙂 Have a beautiful day!
