This photo was supposed to have been done on or about our first anniversary. It was part of our wedding package with Craft’s Photography in Anderson, South Carolina. However, I was just over a month pregnant with our first child when it came time to have our first anniversary photo session. To say I was too sick to go would be a massive understatement. I was too sick to do anything. I couldn’t even look at a *picture* of food without hurling my guts out. On a couple of occasions, I had to go to the hospital for IV fluids because I absolutely could not retain anything that I consumed. My mother-in-law, bless her heart, said that I looked like death warmed over. At one point, my blood pressure was 60/40. I felt like death.
Our first anniversary was in early November 1985. This photo session was delayed until March 1986. The little prince was born in June. Then, I was allowed to eat again. 🙂

Still are gorgeous…what a lovely photo. I had terrible heartburn the whole 9 months and do you know that child came out with a full head of hair! Just like my grandmother said he would. lol

Thank you. I appreciate that. I was told that about the hair as well. This baby was born with hair, too, though not tons of it like our second son. That boy had a head of hair for sure! Grandmas know what they’re talking about. 🙂 I was sick with our boys, not quite as sick with our girls. What color was your baby’s hair? Did it stay that color?

yep. Liam was born with dark-almost black hair and it has stayed that way…almost black and very wavy—I told him he is going to have to get it cut as he gets his drivers license next month. smiles (I only have one child)

Won’t it be interesting after him having dark hair all his life if his children end up blondies?
Our first born, Jared was a blondie, as was our oldest daughter. Hers was a very, very light blond. Theirs has darkened up a little over the years to sort of a dirty blonde. Davey was born with a ton of hair and it was dark, just like his eyes. His hair lightened up just a little over the years. Our baby girl has auburn hair like I had when I was younger. She was a baldie baby just like I was for the longest time. 🙂
Why does Liam have to get it cut for his drivers license?

because he looks like a hippy, lolol. His hair is just about down to his collar…we try to pick our battles…hair isn’t one of them(wink). I think his will stay dark, like mine (well, the help of Revlon #41 light brown, lol). I had black hair growing up–my husband had red hair—being Irish.

I understand about choosing your battles. 🙂 David and I both had red in our hair as little kids. His great-grandpa called him “Rusty”. Two of my cousins had full-on red hair. I don’t dye my hair. At this point, I’m afraid it would all fall out if I did. haha I’ll just accept the gray and get on with it, being happy that I still have hair. I did dye it once. I left the treatment on 10 minutes longer than instructed because I wanted a deeper, darker color. What I ended up with was purple hair. It was great…a 30+ year old punk rocker haha.

wellll……my hair did fall out 13 yrs ago—I had cancer and it grew back thin–baby thin. It was nice and thick…sigh…ANYWAYS—ha, that happened to me once, purple hair…The guys thought it was “cool”…yeah…whatever,lolol

I’m sorry that you had cancer and lost your hair. Do you think it will ever thicken back up? I had tumors, but they weren’t cancerous. They caused severe anemia. I could hardly even stand up, I was so weak. The anemia caused me to start losing my hair. Washing/rinsing with cold water has done wonders for my hair. And, yeah, purple hair *is* cool. We were royalty, you know. 🙂

I have anemia as well…I have to take B12 everyday….no, no such chance of thickening up…I will have to try the cold water. Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to remember that, “being royalty” giggling.

My hair has been curlier and less frizzy since I started washing/rinsing with cold water. It is much curlier when it is short, but David likes it long, so I keep it that way these days. 🙂

my husband would prefer me to have long hair—unfort…it would look too stringy–so I keep in a bob–just above the shoulder length. He hates it, but, hey, its thin enough and long hair makes it look worse. smiles

I’m sorry that your husband doesn’t like your hair how it is. Short hair is pretty, too. Is his hair the same as when you got married? I know my David’s isn’t, but that’s okay with me. Don’t tell him, but I didn’t marry him for his hair. 🙂

lol…no, his hair is gray and nearly bald ,lolol ( I am laughing, because he always says, “I’m no prince”)…oh, he’s ok with it, he just prefers long hair like I use to have, but he knows that’s just not possible anymore. Have a good evening…

It does get pretty tedious trying to take care of it, that’s for sure. David tells me that I can do whatever I want to with it, but I know he prefers it long. As hot as it has been, I’ve been tempted to pour a whole bottle of Nair on it! I figure, we do what we need to do with it. Maybe your hubby will grow to like shorter hair. 🙂
