Word-High July: Bughaw

Please visit here to learn more about this 30-day challenge.

july-6
When I was in high school and dreaming of my first car, my dream car was a baby blue Volkswagen Beetle, affectionately known as a “Bug”. This word fits that memory on all counts!

Blue is also the eye color of some very important people in my life, specifically, David and several of our children. All of them have some variation of blue eyes except for our youngest son. He has dark brown eyes. I call him my Selkie. You can read more about Selkies here: Selkie. He gave me new life. He was my miracle baby, sent to me after his second oldest sister was stillborn. We are the different ones in this family, as everyone else has eye colors predominantly blue. Truly, they are all miracle babies!

Please be sure to visit David’s post over at Random Thoughts and Observations.

Please also visit our hostess Rosema at Word-High July.

There you are (wink)—I am finally getting around to visiting…my husband has green eyes and my son inherited my deep brown, almost black eyes….must be the Yugoslavian heritage, smiles. I love the color blue, but somehow, I can never carry it off well…smiles

I’ve got to get caught up on visiting everyone, too! I am woefully behind. I think that brown eyes are beautiful and it is cool that you and your son have really dark brown eyes. Our youngest son has really dark ones and one of my cousins does, too. Mine are kind of a golden brown. I don’t generally wear the color blue. I think blacks, browns, reds, and greens work best for me. What is your favorite color to wear? Have a blessed day!

Purples, reds and browns are my colors. I had my “colors” done for me once, I can not wear yellow or blue, sad to say. Or anything in the “cool” color wheel. Have a Joyful day, friend.

Does this mean you’re an autumn? I had my colors done years ago, too, but I can’t remember now the results. I am naturally drawn to colors like reds, browns, blacks, and greens. Green is supposedly the best for my eye color (golden brown). I do have a purple, flowery top that I love, too. I would be scared to death to try to wear yellow, even though it is such a happy color. I’d probably look like a bus in it. haha I hope that you have a joyful day, too, my friend. 🙂

yes, autumn and winter. I wish I could wear happy and bright colors–perhaps this is why I am not a summer person, LOLOL. I love autumn and winter. (I don’t look good in black though–although my eyes and hair are dark)—have a beautiful day friend…

Winter is my favorite. All of my pants are black. I wouldn’t be caught wearing any other color, except I would wear blue jeans. I just can’t find any to fit me right due to the scoliosis. I’m not a summer person either. The best part of summer is when its over. haha You have a beautiful day, too. 🙂

I wear only jeans and black jeans in the winter as well…pants/trousers are not my thing, lol. Alright, I must get off this computer—and get around for the day, smiles. (I agree with your comment on summer—at least y’all have central ac—very rare to find that up here, smiles)

We have central AC, but ours is broken and we’re using a window unit. 🙂 I’ll talk to you later, then. Have a beautiful day!

It’s okay. So long as I don’t have to leave this room, it isn’t so bad. Window units are the expensive way to go, but better than nothing at all. 🙂

we are on the budget plan and we only pay $100 a month, and that’s in the winter too…smiles…if you lived closer, I would say come on over & get cooled off, smiles. This heat wave is gripping the whole Nation. sigh

That would be great. 🙂 Last I heard from David’s aunt in South Carolina, it was 103 there. I don’t know if that was the actual temp or the heat index. Either way, its too hot. I guess it would be too much to pray for a snow blizzard in July, eh? haha

OY that’s bad! At least you have snow to look forward to later in the year. Not too much chance of it happening here, though it has happened before. Maybe it would help us both if we found a nice snow scene to put on our desktops. Sometimes just seeing pictures of cold things like snow helps me to feel cooler. What about you?

            oh that’s a good idea( I know…I am on break–you don’t see me, wink)–I have a Tahiti beach scene as the background now…have a beautiful day…

The water in a beach scene could be cooling, too, but the sun reflecting off the sand might have the opposite effect. Enjoy your break. haha Have a beautiful day. 🙂

It makes sense to me completely. There are times that I absolutely cannot focus to write my own post, but I can read others and comment to them. Sometimes I can hold back my agitation long enough to do that, but if I were to write my own post while angry, well, no one would be left guessing about what was on my mind, that’s for sure!

I look forward to seeing what you do with the words. 🙂

oh I have found some great words for angry, frustrated and so on…I had the Friday Foto already preposted–and came in at 1:15 am and postponed it. Anger isn’t the word right now…maybe disgusted…ohhhhhhh there’s a good word I can look up, smiles.

yes ma’am…it is…but you know what, like we were discussing last night…the good Lord knows…and he wants his warriors prepared, always keep the armor on. Now, more than ever…(armor has His word)

          • celticmama36 says:

With the way this world is going, maybe we need a double dose of armor. We need to all be getting more into our Bibles and prayers. Depending fully on Him is the only way we’re going to make it through this.
