Word-High July: Timpi

Please visit here to learn more about this 30-day challenge.

july-2

I often have trouble with self-control when it comes to staying on task.  I get easily distracted.  For example, I will sit down to work on family history research about one specific person or family, but there will be a wiggly leaf or a note in a sidebar of a blog, something that gets my attention…something “shiny”, so to speak.  It is downhill from there.  I get to chasing rabbits, as we like to call it here, and before I know it, I have a hundred tabs up with things to read that have nothing at all to do with the person that I am supposedly researching.  The things are interesting and educational in many cases, but they are not what I am supposed to be focusing on.

Also, if there is a cheesecake or shrimp in the area, any thoughts of self-control go totally out the window!

Do you have trouble controlling yourself? In what circumstance do you have the most difficulty in controlling yourself? Are you working on gaining better self-control in any particular area of your life?

Suzanne, another lovely angle on the word Timpi. My Timpi’s (is that proper English lol) are red wine, chocolate and spending too much time on social media, when I should be writing. It is great to connect and thank you for dropping by and following my blog.
    Kindest regards.
    Davy D.

Cool, we’re twins! I would be perfectly happy living on shrimp and cheesecake for life, with salad thrown in there, too, of course. 🙂 I look forward to learning more about you, too, Rosema. 🙂 Have a blessed weekend. ❤

Thank you. Suzanne is my legal name. Most of my friends call me Suz and that is how I sign my e-mails. Another new friend called me Lily earlier (Suzanne means Lily). Still others call me Annie. Whatever works for you is fine with me. What do you prefer to be called?

Wow! Suzanne means Lily!? That’s lovely to know. Now I’ll call you Suz because I want to be your friend. 😉
You can call me Rosema or Rose. 🙂 My full name’s Rosemarie. Some of my blogger friends here call me Rosey. 😉 It’s for you to choose, Suz! 😉

So, we’re both flowers. 🙂 Rose is a name that shows up fairly often in my family tree and I think it is a pretty name. Rosema seems to be what comes out when I go to type your name, so that is probably what I’ll call you most of the time. I’m always glad to have a new friend. 🙂

Yeah! We are both flowers. You are a Lily. I am a Rosema! 😀
Rosema it is, Suz! 😀 I share the same feeling! 🙂
            P.S.
I am wondering if David receives my comments in his blog. 🙂

🙂 He has received two comments from a Rosemarie Gonzales. Is that you? He has responded to them on his blog. Sometimes it takes him a little while to respond. He gets distracted between publishing the comments and responding to them. 🙂

Oh yeah! Sometimes those distractions are fruitful, though. I got off course one day and ended up finding a several photos of my 2nd Great-grandmother and-father Pressley and several of their children. Unfortunately, those pictures didn’t include a photo of my great-grandfather. Maybe next time. In regards to temptation, Ancestry is as lethal to willpower as cheesecake. haha

Oh I’ve tried that, too. I wasn’t doing anything important though. I was just cleaning shelves that I ended up staring at old albums and photographs. Haha! And yeah, ancestry is just as lethal to willpower as dark chocolates (for me) 😅

Well, I could say no to shrimp.Heavens, I hate that I am allergic to it. But cheesecake makes me drool. HAHAHA well, I could say that listening to Owl City is just something that I couldn’t make Timpi.

I’m sorry that you’re allergic to shrimp. That’s awful. I think I’d shoot myself if I developed an allergy to shrimp! It is one of the few things that doesn’t cause me an adverse reaction.
What is your favorite kind of cheesecake?
I’ve never heard of Owl City. What kind of group are they? One group that I love to hear over and over is The Statesmen. They are a (now deceased) Southern Gospel quartet that formed in the late 1940s.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed weekend.
